Arthur was the only son of Chester Earl and Lillian Bell Denney Mosteller, and the brother of Dolores Fay Mosteller and Sharon Diane Rogers. He graduated from Excelsior High School (adult night school) in Norwalk, California. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and he died while on active duty with Mobile Construction Battalion 9 in Cubi Point, Bataan Province, Luzon, Republic of Philippines. He is buried next to his father, Chester Earl Mosteller.
