Joseph was the oldest son of Michael & Mary McGivern, both parents born in Ireland. He was born in England along with a twin sister Mary. He also had four other sisters, Kitty, Ann, Eileen & Nora plus a younger brother Bernard that was killed in Germany during WWII.
Joe went on to be the husband of Fern,(Turner)and father of six children, Pat, Eileen, Maura, Joseph, James and Bernard.
He worked 32 years of his adult life in the automotive aftermarket business. At a company by the name of Sussen Rubber & Supply Co. in Cleveland Ohio, that company years later went on to become part of the nation wide company known as CarQuest.
