My Great Great Uncle.
He was born Theodore Roosevelt Waller on February 16, 1903 in Mount Vernon (Posey), Indiana to Lee Waller and Martha Ferlines. He was one of 6 children; Carrie Cabble, Ulysses Simpson Waller, Robert Edward Lee "Thummy" Waller, Grant Waller, and Della Cooper. He married Ruth Jefferson and from this union 2 children were born; Theodore and Carlton. He died at 83 years old and was laid to rest in Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mount Vernon (Posey), Indiana.

NEGRO AVERTS WRECK OF EXCURSION TRAIN. Discovers Bursted Wheel and Notifies Trainmen, Probably Saving a Score of Lives.
Although the close observance of Theodore (Peanuts) Waller, local colored young man, probably saved a score of lives and averted a serious wreck of an excursion train on the L.&N. railroad bound for St. Louis early Sunday morning of June 13, his act did not become known until the latter part of last week, owing to the modesty of the youth, railroad officials announced.
When the train pulled into the station here at 12:15 a.m. Waller discovered a peculiar appearance of the trucks under one of the rear cars and upon investigation found one of the wheels bursted. Just as the train was pulling out of the station he ran to the fore part of the train and notified the conductor. The sticking of the brakes had caused the wheel to become hot and it bursted under the heat. It had cropped off the rails and was running on the cross-ties. A wrecker from Howell was was summoned and damage was soon repaired. That Waller had averted a serious train wreck and consequent loss of life and injury was agreed to by all the trainmen. Efforts are being made to have the company grant Waller formal recognition for the service he performed.
