Son of Allen Blue Carman and Clara Ethel Burks. He enlisted in the US Army at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas on September 27, 1941. After his Military Service he lived in Odessa, Texas where he met and married Telova Mae Flournoy on February 15, 1950. To this union three sons were born, Quentin Allen, Billy Wandell, and Larry James. In the early 1960's the family moved to Houston, where he worked for Phillips Petroleum. He remained a resident of Houston until the late 1990's when he relocated to Palestine, Texas. Hollis was an excellent cook, and a devoted family man. He will be greatly missed.
