IVA MAE BRINKLEY
Iva was born in *Cheyenne*,

Oklahoma, on August 23, 1912,
to Elbert Walter and Tuga May Smith Townsley. On October 22, 1927 she married William Brinkley. Their marriage spanned 47 years.
Bill and Iva moved to California
33 years ago, he died March 26,
1975. Iva continued to live in
Tulare county after his death and
has been here a total of 33 years.
Iva died in Visalia, California, on
April 18, 1985, at the age of 72
years 7 months and 15 days. She is
survived by her three children; Duncan
Brinkley of Sandy, Oregon; Emma Brinkley
of Porterville; David Brinkley of
Gravette, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren,
Carl, Roy Brinkley, Vonna, Gwen,
Darrell, Janice, Beverly, Laqueda,
Freda, Dwayne, Ronald and William; by
eighteen great grandchildren, Jerry,
Sherrice, Lindsey, Bobby, Denise, Jamie,
Steven, Clayton, Chrissie, Megan, Kevin,
Shelly, Shree, Amber, Charles, Shawn,
Cody, and Johnny; by two sisters,
Maggie Townsley of Canadian, Texas
and Rachael Richardson of El Dorado,
Texas.
Services celebrating her life are held
this 22nd day of April, 1985, at the
Whitehurst Loyd Chapel at 1 PM, under
the guidance of Pastor Mike McGuffee of
the First Southern Baptist Church of
Porterville. Interment following the
service is in Hillcrest Memorial Park,
Porterville.
