Dad or "Bow Tie" as he was known by his CB friends, died at the age of 76 from cancer. He got the name Bowtie because he always wore one. No outfit was complete without it. He worked as an electrician for the Reading Railroad (which became Conrail) for years. And always, under his dirty coveralls, he would wear a bow tie. He would even clip a bow tie to his T shirts when doing work around the house. He was quite a character. He sang silly songs and recited nursery rhymes to his grandchildren always saying he was quoting Shakespeare. After retiring to Georgia he discovered the joy of elaborate Christmas decorating. And he did enjoy it. He decorated everything on his property, as well his clothing (see photo), with lights and became known as "The Lightman". He entertained alot of people young and old with his antics. He was married to his wife Betty Minnich Kohr for over 50 years. They had 6 children. 4 sons....Jay W. Kohr, Jr. Clarence J. Kohr,(who preceded him in death),and twin sons Peter R. Kohr and Paul T. Kohr. 2 daughters Jean R. Hollabaugh and Barbara A. Schaefer and 11 grandchildren. He is greatly missed.

I thought of you today, but that is nothing knew. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories, and a picture in a frame.
Your memory is a keepsake, from which I'll never part. God has you in his arms, I have you in my heart.
