Walter G. Graves, dignified gentleman, full of eloquence and grace, passed away at his Lynnfield home on Monday, March 27th, at the age of 98.
In addition to his 44-year career with General Electric, Walter's dedication and service included the First Baptist Church in Lynn and the Masons, Shriners, and various other local groups and organizations. He was also an active member of the Senior Center of Lynnfield.
Walter was married to the late Hazel Dennison Graves.
He leaves their three children, Marilyn Buker of Williamstown NJ, Wes Graves of Middleton MA, and and Janet Andrews of North Andover MA; seven grandchildren, Mark Buker, Shawn Buker, Darren Buker, Janet Murphy, Wendy Fasser, Alyson Andrews Eckholt, and Peter C. Andrews; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 31st, at 10 a.m. at the Dewhirst and Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence St., Andover. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Garden in West Peabody. Family and friends may call on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
