Gene, a lifelong resident of Tampa, went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Memory; a son, Eugene, and his wife, Shannon; a daughter, Kerri Brown, and her husband, Kirk; his mother, Myrtle Louise Faulkner; stepsons, John Young and his wife, Zenhita, and Robert Young; a stepdaughter, Melany Blumenthal-Sell, and her husband, Eric; three sisters, Mildred Perry, Jeanette Crabtree and Lavonne Roy; and 17 grandchildren. Gene was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division, and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 925. He was a faithful son, dedicated husband, loving father, and a wonderful blessing to his grandchildren.
