She was born Violetta Pearl Hiney, the daughter of John Brooks and Elizabeth Shaw Hiney. She preferred to be called Pearl. Pearl and her family lived in a small rural town of Hawk Run, Pa.She married Donald C. Keefer in San Diego California of January 1 1927. She was the mother of Donald, LoRaine, Joyce, Shirley and Gary. She was an avid knitter and bowler. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Netcong, Mary Rebekah Lodge 7 in Montrose, Pa., the community club and the Senior citizens association, both in Mount Arlington, and the Eagles and Elks Clubs in Dover New Jersey.
