Dan Short served as the Bank President of the State Bank of Noel, beginning in 1983. He was kidnapped and murdered at the Cowskin bridge (Grand Lake, Oklahoma) by two brothers, (Joe and Shannon Agafsky) who forced him to open the bank vault.
Though he had recently seperated from his wife Joyce of twenty-three years, he was a loving father to their children. He was a very nice, likable man.
