Tom Babbitt, for many years a resident of Nance county about ten miles north of Palmer, passed away March 7, 1937, at a hospital at Boise, Idaho, at the age of 48 years, 1 month and 27 days.
Thomas Earl Babbitt was born at Ashland, Nebraska, on January 10, 1889. When a child six years of age he moved with the parental family to Cedar Rapids, and in this vicinity he grew to manhood.
On November 10 of the year 1908 he was united in marriage with Miss Mable Smith at Fullerton, Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Babbitt established their home in Nance County and continued to reside there until about two years ago they went to Idaho, settling in the Boise valley at Caldwell, and they continued to reside there until the time of his passing.
Surviving Mr. Babbitt are his wife, Mrs. Mable Babbitt, and four children, his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Raftery of Caldwell and the three sons are Clarence and Charles of Nampa, and Harold of Boise, Idaho. There are also four brothers -- Willis of Cedar Rapids, Carl of Sutherland, and Horace of Belgrade, all living in the state of Nebraska, and Edward located at Caldwell, Idaho. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Louise Hoffman of Ashland, Nebraska; and eight grandchildren.

Thomas Earl Babbitt was the twin brother of Walter Edward "Edward" Babbitt.
