Mr. Acheson, a lifelong resident of Tippecanoe County, was a 1935 graduate of Klondike High School. He was a foreman in the Alcoa Extrusion Department for 35 years, retiring in 1975. He had also served as Tippecanoe Township trustee from 1963 until 1966. He was a member of Battle Ground United Methodist Church, Battle Ground Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Shrine, and Tippecanoe Shrine Club. He was also a member and former officer of Pleasant Grove Grange, was a former overseer of the Tippecanoe Pomona Grange, and was a former deputy and steward of the Indiana State Grange. He was also a member of Tippecanoe County Farm Bureau.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Claudia (Mrs. Craig) Lance of Williamston, MI, and Patti (Mrs. Dennis) Frist of West Lafayette; a son, Col. Densel Acheson of Omaha, NE; a brother, George Acheson of Lafayette; and ten grandchildren. A brother, Gerald Acheson; and a grandson, Kurt David Kerber, preceded him in death.
