Donna Thedford Carpenter, age 72, of Garvin Ridge Road, in Olive Hill, Ky., passed away Sunday morning, October 28, 2012, at her residence.
She was born October 6, 1940, in Ft. Worth, TX., a daughter of the late Ozoro and Opal Fugue Thedford.
Donna was a homemaker and had previously worked at a nursing home in Ohio. She was of the Apostolic faith and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Elder Herman Carpenter, one son, David Carpenter, one daughter, Donna Rae Slee, and one sister, Shirley Brown.
Donna is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Ken and Bonnie Carpenter, Stephen and Tresea Carpenter, and Joe and Branndi Carpenter, all of Olive Hill, Ky., and Kenneth Slee of Youngstown, OH., three daughters and one son-in-law, Sandra Cornwell of Anchorage, Alaska, Joyce Dixon of Olive Hill, Ky., and Elizabeth and Orville McClurg of Morehead, Ky., 14 grandchildren, Stephanie Cornwell George, Jon Cornwell, Eric Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, Kaleb Carpenter, Lori P'Simer, Sunshine Lands, Nathaniel Dixon, Chris Carpenter, Kelly Carpenter, Nathan Carpenter, Hannah Carpenter, Emily Carpenter, and Jacob Carpenter, 17 great-grandchildren, one brother, Hubert Thedford of Ft. Worth, TX., and two sisters, Wanda Thedford and Leona Thedford, both of TX. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Ky., with Brother Ravin Fields, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Tick Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012, and until the service hour at 11 a.m. on Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Ken Carpenter, Orville McClurg, Cody Carpenter, Nathaniel Dixon, Nathan Carpenter, and Adam Lands will serve as pallbearers.
