Wealthy Anna Remington Beatty was born in Henry county, Illinois, Mar. 6, 1861. On May 30, 1886, in Scott Co., she was united in marriage to Alpheus D. Beatty. To this union two children were born. She spent her entire married life in Valley City. Mr. Beatty died in April 1926. Her death occurred in her own home in Valley City on Friday, Mar. 9. She was 90 years and three days old.
She is survived by one sister, Etta Windsor of Humeston, Ia., and one granddaughter, Eleanore Beatty of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her two children, Thomas Beatty and Clyde Beatty. Thomas died as a young man and Clyde was a boy of twelve.
In her younger years, while she was able, she was always helpful to anyone in need. She was a member of the Valley City Methodist church. She got much joy out of thinking back over her active years in the church.
Funeral services were held at the Valley City Methodist church Monday afternoon, Mar. 12. Interment was in the Griggsville cemetery.
