In 1940, Otto Glatting, aged 47, was shown living on Dunton Avenue, Miramar Beach, Brookhaven, with his wife, Kate, aged 45, and son Walter Glatting, aged 20. Otto was shown to be a florist.
Obituary - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow for Otto Glatting, of 43 Bayview Avenue, East Patchogue, who died Monday of an apparent coronary attack while hunting on the property of Oak Park Nursery, East Patchogue. He was 73, and retired from the florist business.
The Rev. Joseph Bond, rector emeritus of St. Ann's Episcopal Church, Sayville, who is now serving Christ Episcopal Church, Bellport, will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue.
Mr. Glatting's body was found Monday afternoon by Claus Schubert of 30 Bayview Avenue, East Patchogue, and Mr. Glatting's grandson, William, 15, who searched the area when he did not return home for lunch. William is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Glatting of 35 Bayview Avenue.
Mr. Glatting sold O. Glatting & Son, his florist business which he operated for 27 years, this summer to Mr. Schubert. The business was located at 30 Bayview Avenue.
Born in Heidelberg, Germany, Mr. Glatting came to the United States in 1923 and lived in East Patchogue for the past 42 years.
Surviving are his wife, Kathe; one son, Walter; a brother and two sisters living in Germany, and one grandson.
