A resident of the Gibbon area since 1902, Russell G. Alvin, 75, died at his home Tuesday afternoon. He had been an invalid since suffering a stroke in 1942. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Gibbon. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Miller-Godberson Funeral Home in Gibbon.

Mr. Albin was born at Norton, Kan., Aug. 13, 1879, the son of Oscar and Nellie Albin. He was married June 7, 1899, at Wood River to Eva Westcoatt. The couple farmed near Norton until 1902 when they came to a farm north of Gibbon. Mr. Albin retired from the farm in 1938 and moved to Gibbon where he entered the gas and oil business.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Nelson of Spokane, Wash., Paul of Gibbon, and Russell of Omaha; and two daughters, Mrs. Mary Graves, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. John Van Vleet, Gibbon. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
