Major General Count Arthur (Artemii) Cherep-Spiridovich
(Last name is also spelled with a T, Tcherep-Spiridovich or even Čerap-ŚPIRYDOVIČ)

Arthur Cherep-Spiridovich, was a writer, political activist and a descendant of aristocrats. He was a Major-General of the Russian Imperial Army, one of the right-wing politicians of Tsarist Russia. He was the chairman of the Slavic Subsidiary Company in Moscow May 16, 1901 thru 1913. He owned several sugar factories and had a commercial fleet on the Volga River. He was the largest shareholder in many profitable enterprises in the Russian Empire (oil, coal, ore). He was also an arctic explorer. In his later years was a member of Russian pre-revolutionary monarchist organization to go against the Bolshevik and revolutionists.

In the states he became the Managing Director of the Slavic Benevolent Society.

Artemi Cherep-Spiridovich was married and had 2 sons (unknown what has happened to them)

Count Artemi Cherep-Spiridovich was murdered in 1926 in New York. Was staged as a "gas poisoning", but the gas valve was closed. The police did not conduct any further examination after his death.

Arthur Spiridovich is best known for authoring a book positioning on various conspiracy theories entitled "Secret World Government or The Hidden Hand".

The body of Count Arthur Tcherep Spiridovich, former officer of the Imperial Russian army, who was "accidentally" asphyxiated by illuminating gas last Friday, was saved from the potters field today when several Russian societies volunteered to take charge of it. Funeral services will be held Sunday at Barrett Manor, Arrochar, Staten Island where the count lived and directed a movement for the establishment of an all-Slav empire. Burial Monday will be in St. Marys cemetery.

one person attempted to locate the grave at St Mary's, and they stated they couldnt find the record on him.. (hmmm)
Just in case, he was definitely interred in Staten Island. the question, which cemetery? St Mary's is possibly divided cemeteries??
