Baker, Arlene, 70, of Tampa, passed away after a valiant 8 year battle with cancer on October 16, 2012; she remained steadfast in faith and courage. Arlene dedicated her life to her family. She adored her grandchildren and always looked forward to spending quality time with them. Arlene was a registered nurse and she spent her career caring for others. She was born on September 1, 1942 in Nova Scotia, Canada. Arlene was preceded in death by her mother and father Louise and Ambrose Blinkhorn and beloved husband of 46 years, Jack Baker. She is survived by her sons, Michael and Kevin; daughter, Erin; along with seven precious grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Madison, Ryan, Andrew, Jaxon, and Jacob. She was well loved by all of her dear friends that helped her along through this journey of life and blessed to have a brother, Tom and two sisters, Sheila and Jan. A visitation will be held at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, Carrollwood Chapel, 3207. W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa, FL 33618 on Friday, October 19 from 6-8PM. A funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at St. Lawrence Parish on Himes. The burial will take place in Fostoria, Ohio on Monday, October 29 at St. Wendelin Cemetery following a 11:00AM Mass at St. Wendelin church. A small reception will be held after the burial at St. Wendelin's.
