Alfred Edward Cosway was the son of James and Jane (Basley) Cosway. He immigrated to the USA in the early 1890s to join his brother Harry and sister Gertrude Ellen Cosway Franks. On July 14, 1898, he married Evelyn Hufford in Hancock County, Ohio. Their son Harry Frances Cosway was born in 1899 in Findlay, Ohio.

Alfred's brother, Harry is also buried at Toledo Memorial Park, Findagrave Memorial #70605332.

His sister, "Ellen" Franks, is buried at Forest Cemetery, Findagrave Memorial #52258526.
