Obituary: Hilda Hattie Zieger - Maderer

Hilda H. Maderer, 103, wife, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, of Austin, Texas, died on Thursday, June 5, 2008. She was born on December 2, 1904 to Robert and Anna Zieger in Nechanitz, Texas. Hilda was baptized on April 29, 1905 and later confirmed on May 19, 1918 at Greens Creek Church.

Hilda moved to Premont, Texas in 1931 and married Ted J. Maderer on January 6, 1938, their union was blessed with three children, John, Douglas, and Sandra Ann. In 1966 the family moved to Austin, Texas where they joined Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Hilda was a member of the Dorcas Society at Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 40 years where she volunteered at the Austin State Hospital. She enjoyed doing needlework, crocheting, and craftwork for members of her family, friends, church, and state hospital.

Hilda was preceded in death by her husband Ted in 1973, daughter Sandra in 2004, and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons, Doug and John; one granddaughter, Peggy; two great-grandchildren, Breya and Bryce; and a host of nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2008 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 West Anderson Lane. Interment will follow at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
