Harold Barnes Ingram, Sr.
November 17, 1924 - October 10, 2012

Macon, GA- Harold B. Ingram, Sr. (Gran-Gran) age 87 passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the Morningside Assisted Living Residence on Peake Rd.

Mr. Ingram was born November 17, 1924 in Macon, Ga. to the late Charles D. Ingram, Sr. and Willie P. Ingram.

Mr. Ingram was a devoted lifelong member of Holsey Temple C.M.E. Church. He retired after 35 years from the U.S. Government Postal Service, where he served as a supervisor. He was a 1947 graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Ingram was a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and a member of the American Bridge Association, American Contract Bridge League, Middle Georgia Bridge Club and Macon Duplicate Bridge Club. He was an 'avid reader' and a passionate contributor to many worthy organizations.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice V. Ingram; a sister Carita I. Sledge of Detroit, Michigan; son Harold B. Ingram, Jr. of New York; daughter Brenda (Charles) Richard of Macon; son Charles (Dorothy) D. Ingram III of Atlanta; and daughter Wilma (Richard) Mathis, Jr. of Macon.

Mr. Ingram was preceded in death by his grandson Antonio M. Ingram, Sr. He also leaves to cherish his memory: eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 pm, Monday, October 15th, at Hutchings Chapel, 536 New Street. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 16th, also at Hutchings Chapel. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Morehouse College Scholarship Fund, Atlanta, GA 30314, or the Georgia Public Broadcasting System, Atlanta, GA 30384.
