Phyllis Ann (Thurston) Culbertson of Bowling Green passed away at Wood County Hospital on April 19, 2011. She was born on February 17, 1924 in Grand Rapids, OH to Newman and Helen Thurston. She is survived by William, her loving husband of 63 years. Phyllis graduated from Grand Rapids High School and attended Dennison University in Granville, OH. Phyllis was a 69-year member of Grand Rapids order of Eastern Star and member of First Presbyterian Church in Bowling Green. She also taught piano in Bowling Green for over 50 years. Phyllis volunteered with the Red Cross Bloodmobile, the Link in Bowling Green and was a longtime election poll worker. Phyllis enjoyed traveling, reading, playing bridge and watching her grandchildren's many activities. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to the Church, or to The Wood County Hospital Foundation. A private graveside service will be held later this summer at Beaver Creek Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
