Betty Lou (Daughenbaugh) Adams was born on November 11, 1930 in Cass County. She graduated from Lincoln High School in June of 1949. Betty retired from Northwestern Bell, and then worked in the kitchen at Adventureland for 12 years, with her last job as a crossing guard until she was 81 years old. Betty passed away Monday morning at 1:30 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital. Betty is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Ray); two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brothers: Herb (Debbie), Roy (Judy), Dale (Becky), Norman (Donna), and Mark (Peggy); her sisters: Nadine (Ronnie), Irene (David), and Marlene (Robert); and many nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, John Adams; parents, Howard and Margerat; brothers, Gale, Howard, Shorty, and James; and nephew, Howard (Beaver) Daughenbaugh. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 3, from 5-8 p.m. at Brooks South Town Chapel, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 4 at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Following the burial will be a luncheon at the Eagles Lodge.
