Jean E. Pfeifer, 80, of Marblehead, Ohio died Monday, April 28, 2003 in Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton.
She was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio on March 31, 1923, the daughter of the late Arthur and Bessie Courtad Burks. She graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1941. She resided in Galion from 1945-48 prior to moving to Mt. Gilead in 1950. She worked for the former Shelby Army Depot and Stratbury Coat Factory in Galion, and provided day care in her home until retiring in 1981. She enjoyed sewing, fishing and bowling.
She is survived by her husband Lewis P. Pfeifer, whom she married Feb. 9, 1943; a son and daughter-in-law Mike & Lynn Pfeifer of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; a daughter Bonnie Pfeifer of Orange Park, Florida; 2 grandchildren Chanda Pfeifer and Steve & Kelli Pfeifer; a great granddaughter Kaitlynn Pfeifer; two brothers Vernon and Harold Burks both of Shelby, Ohio; and two sisters Betty Russell of Clyde, Ohio and Doris Beck of Shiloh, Ohio.
Pastor Joe Blevins will conduct graveside services in Rivercliff Cemetery Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Arrangements are in care of Snyder Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.snyderfuneralhomes.com.
