Final rites for Ernest James Acker, 73, retired farmer of the Goshen Community near Piedmont, who died Tuesday night, February 19, 1952, after a lengthy illness, were held Thursday, February 21 at the New Goshen Methodist Church.
Mr. Acker was a native of Cherokee County.
Survivors include his widow, Eliza Josephine Acker; three sons, Joe Acker, Claude Acker and Ernest Acker, Jr., all of Piedmont; a daughter, Mrs. J.C. Estes (Amy Lucille) of Piedmont; one sister, Mrs. W. E. Roberts, Cooper Court, Oxford; and a brother, Lake Acker of Spring Garden.(The Anniston Star, February 22, 1952)
