Her brother-in-law had been widowed by Carmela's sister (name unknown), leaving behind two children, James A. and Joseph John Fatzie. Carmela and Frank had five more children, John Frances, Lucy Victoria, Salvatore, Francis J., and Annetta Mary, bringing their family to total of 8 children.
Carmela is the daughter of Francesco Mazzucca (Mazzuca) and Parquirra Romano.
Carmela died of Chronic Nephritis at the age of 52.Her death certificate has her maiden name was Matzuka which is an obvious error.
