DAVID A. LAWTON 81, of West Warwick, passed away Friday September 21, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles and Alice (Wetton) Lawton. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A Lawton of 55 years; devoted father of Steven Lawton and his wife Pamela, Peggy Bianco and her husband Michael, Eric Lawton and his wife Leslie and Peter Lawton and his wife Tulay. David also leaves 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Hazel Hocking, Mildred Coleman and Hope Tammaro.

A veteran of the Korean War, David was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He received his Masters Degree from Rhode Island College and taught in the Warwick Public School System for 25 years.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 28, 10:30 am at the Winfield & Son Funeral Home 571 West Greenville Rd. North Scituate, RI. Please omit flowers.
