Services for Patricia Fox Cornwell, 70, Spirit Lake, were 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 1988. Rev. Bob Kunz officiated. Music was provided by Mary Lou Ayres, organist and Robert Cosens, soloist, who sang "In The Garden," and "The Old Rugged Cross."
Pallbearers were Jim Meese, Dick Neppl, Steve Weed, John Hilliard, Rick Nelson and Don McKinsircy.
Mrs. Cornwell died Monday, Nov. 7 at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Spirit Lake.
She was born March 16, 1918 in Estherville to Joseph and Christina (Thomson) Petersen. She married Harold "Hod" Fox, Jan. 16, 1940. Following Mr. Fox's death in 1968 she worked at the Spirit Lake Medical Center. She married Paul Cornwell in Ashton, Iowa, Oct. 30, 1976.
Survivors include three sons: Gary and his wife Maureen, and Roger and his wife Corliss, all of Leavenworth, Kans., Craig and his wife Dorothy, Ottumwa, Iowa; one daughter, Barbara, Spirit Lake; five grandsons; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Anna Ballah, South St. Paul, Minn., Esther Loe and Martina Petersen, Estherville, and Helga Doolittle, Mountain Home, Ark.; one brother, Bill Petersen, Williford, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, one sister, two brothers and a nephew.
Burial was in Spirit Lake Memorial Gardens, Spirit Lake with Turner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
