Sara Ruth Boden, 29, of Kirksville, Missouri, formerly of Scotland County, Missouri, passed away Friday afternoon, August 10, 2012, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

Sara, the daughter of David Boden of Rutledge, Missouri and Sherry Boden of Richland, Missouri, was born September 21, 1982 in Quincy, Illinois.

Sara attended N.E. Learning Center and Blackhawk Elementary. At age 16, she became a resident of Chariton Valley Residential Center in Kirksville, graduating from Kirksville High School.

Anyone who was privileged to have been in Sara's life can attest to what a gift she was to them. In addition to socializing, her loves were music, T.V. and dessert, in that order! Sara loved "holding court" with her many friends in her mother's tea room and later at restaurants in Kirksville.

She seldom missed a movie or event at the Memphis Cinema, loved watching ball games with her dad and brother and attending concerts.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Paul Boden.

Sara is survived by her mother, Sherry Boden of Richland, Missouri; her father, David Boden and his fiancée, Theresa Smith of Rutledge; her brother, Shawn Boden; grandparents, Eileen Boden of Quincy, Illinois, and Del and his wife Pat Barber of Ozark, Missouri; her kind and dedicated caregivers at Chariton Valley Residential Center; along with numerous family members and friends.

Memorials may be made to Chariton Valley Residential Center or donor's choice and can be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Rev. Jim Campbell officiating. Interment followed in the Union Cemetery east of Memphis.
