Edward Armstrong was the son of Margaret Burns Armstrong and George Edward Armstrong. He grew up in River Forest, IL with his two brothers, George P Armstrong and John Armstrong. He married Mary Jane Keller on Oct. 6, 1945. He had four children, Edward L. Armstrong, Mary Ann Armstrong Smith, Susan Jane Armstrong Reid, and Barbara Jeanne Armstrong Broyles. Ed and Mary Jane had eight grandchildren, Trista Nicole Smith Mollica, Dylan Moir, Emily Armstrong Oberto, Allison Burns Armstrong, Colleen Marie Reid Edmiston, Leo Joseph Reid, IV, Carrie Elena Singleton and Matthew Frederick Singleton. Ed and Mary Jane bought a house in Elmhurst, IL in 1948 and moved with their children to Chesterfield, MO in 1963.
