The German Evangelical reform churches of Saint Peter and Saint Paul of Cincinnati founded the German Evangelical Protestant Cemetery. The entrance was on Carthage Road. In 1896, the suburb of Clifton was annexed to the City of Cincinnati. The name ‘Carthage Road’ was changed to ‘Vine Street.’ The cemetery is now known as the Vine Street Hill Cemetery.
