Mr. Jimmy Meriweather departed this life on April 26, 2007. He was born on Aug. 15, 1952, in Homerville, Ga., to the late Robert and Katherine Meriweather. He received his education in the Clinch County Schools System.
Mr. Jimmy was known by many for being a friend, father figure, and inspiration, and chef to many for his special Bar-B-Que.
He leaves to cherish his memories his former wife, Rosa Meriweather of Brunswick; five children, Jimmy Meriweather, Justin Meriweather of Brunswick, Robert Meriweather of Homerville, and Jermaine Hood of Sacramento, Calif. and Yameka Meriweather of Darien, Ga.; three brothers, John Henry Meriweather (Carrie Bell), Lee Vertis Meriweather (Juanita) and Sylvester Meriweather, all of Homerville; sisters, Clara Mae Harris, Ethel Meriweather, Fannie Walker, Carolyn Mae Harris, Ethel Meriweather, Fannie Walker, Carolyn Swinson (David), all of Homerville, Rosa Brown (Roscoe), St. Petersburg, Fla., Juanita Gordon (Gregory), Fitzgerald, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Lfiyanna Lacey, Kirsten Meriweather, Jevone Meriweather, Kayla Hood, Octavious Butler, Jasmine Hood, Jamal Meriweather, Jemere Meriweather, Jacari Meriweather, and Iyanna Meriweather; five sisters-in-law, Dorothy Meriweather, West Palm Beach, Fla., Roslyn Spates (Lonnie), Debbie Benjamin (Don), Diane Holloway (Lester), Lottie Poseley (Charles), all of Homerville; two brothers-in-law, Ricky Cooper (Lisa), and Allen Walker Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and friends whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the Browns Chapel in Homerville, Ga. The Rev. Gerald Copeland is the Pastor and Pastor Ernestine Richardson will officiate. Burial to follow in Manor Chapel Cemetery in Manor, Ga. Visitation will be held today from 3-8 p.m. in the Brown Chapel. — Harrington Funeral Home.
