Stub was born on January 31, 1928 in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, to Edward and Jenny (Paul) Brown.
He became a professional baseball player in the St. Louis Cardinals Farm Baseball Team. He pitched for the Cardinals and Giants Baseball Teams. He met the love of his life at the Phil Welch Stadium he married Agnes Gartland on February 11, 1950 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Stub worked at Quaker Oats retiring after 40 years of dedication and service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes Brown, of the home; daughter, Kathy (Doug) Matthias, of St. Joseph; Charlotte Brewka, Kansas City, MO; Bob (Mary Jane) Brown, Centralia, MO; David "Opie" (Kay) Brown, St. Joseph; grandchildren, Patty, Eddie, Matthew, Vincent, Heather, Jason, Sarah, Garrett, Cinnamon, Billy, Davie, and Ryan; 9 Great-grandchildren, and sister, Violett Centore, Westfield, Massachusetts.
Graveside services 10:30 AM Friday, September 7, 2012 at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Parish Rosary 6:00 PM Thursday.
Visitation will begin after 12:00 Noon Thursday, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday evening following the Rosary.
The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
