Howard Stanley Lawton, 85, of Corsicana passed away May 25, 2004, at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village in Corsicana. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth Gram Lawton; sisters, Anne Lawton, Marie Lawton and Virginia Smith; and brother, Paul Lawton.

Mr. Lawton is survived by daughters, Janet Lawton of Fort Worth and Anne Lawton Dosser of Corsicana; and grandchildren, Megan and Will Dosser of Corsicana.

Mr. Lawton was born June 13, 1918, to Harry S. Lawton and Emma Mendenhall Lawton in Middletown, Pa. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in chemical engineering and received a master's in business administration from Harvard University. Mr. Lawton served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and spent his professional career in the industrial chemical industry in Chicago, Ill. In 1976, he moved to Corsicana to join Jetco Chemical Company.

Stan was a devoted husband and father. His life was lived with honor, integrity and kindness. He was a true gentleman whose keen wit and humble spirit endured to the end.

Stan's ashes will be interred adjacent to Liz at Oakwood Cemetery in a private family service.
