Dusty Boggess

Lynton Ross "Dusty" Boggess. Played in the minor leagues for 21 years and was nicknamed for his habit of scooping dirt as he batted and for his red hair. He was 3rd base umpire in Don Larsen's 1956 World Series game and was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 1973. He was buried with a souvenir baseball autographed by every umpire he had ever worked with. (notation written by John Nelms)
