Anne (Annie) was the oldest of three daughters of Marcia Bowen (Winter) Anderson (1824-1898) and John Farwell Anderson (1823-1887), Portland, Maine. John F. Anderson's father (John Anderson) was the mayor of Portland, and served in other political roles. John Farwell Anderson was an executive with the railroad. The girls were raised in two different "upscale" homes in Portland and living at times at the family farm (Maplewood Farm and Anderson-Lord House) in south Windham, ME. Being from a prominent and politically connected family, the girls attended private schools and associated with other prominent families of the region.
Anne was named after her grandmother (John F. Anderson's mother), Ann (Hichborn) Jameson (1779-1847). The spelling is most commonly Hichborn, occasionally Hichborne and rarely Hitchborn.

Anne married a widower, Charles William Lord, born in Kennebunk, Maine. The couple move to Newton, MA, where Charles grew his leather-tanning business. Both of the Lord's son's (John and Robert) went into the leather business in Gorham, Maine, as did some of the grandsons.

After leather was replaced with synthetics, Charles transitioned into the real estate business in the Boston area. The couple had four children, one (Philip) died as an infant. In 1880, they built a new home at 151 Waverley Ave., Newton, MA. It was in this home that Charles died in 1917, two years prior to Anne. Anne's timeline is as follows.
• 1849―Born in Portland, Maine 3 August 1849.
• 1950―Portland, ME
• 1860―Windham, ME (Maplewood farm)
• 1870―Married 23 June 1870
• 1871―Birth of Bessie (Elisabeth) Anderson Lord.
o Elisabeth Anderson Lord married Charles Boardman Beasom of N.H. when she was 16 years old, and that same year (1887) provided Anne her first grandchild.
• 1872―Birth of John Anderson Lord (1872-1939)
• 1877―Birth of Philip Lord
• 1877―Death of Philip Lord; January 19, 1877 (1877-1877)
• 1880―Moved into their new home on Waverley Ave, Newton, MA
• 1883―Birth of Robert Howard William Lord (1886-1973)
o Buried in Nashua N.H.
• 1917―Death of Husband, Charles William Lord
• 1919―Anne died in Danvers, MA and is buried in the Anderson Family Cemetery, adjacent to Maplewood farm, Windham, ME, as are her sons and many of their children. Interestingly, her daughter (Elizabeth) is not buried in the Anderson Cemetery, or with her husband (Charles Beasom).

Based on tax records, the Anderson farm (Maplewood Farm) and home at 92 River Road, Windham, ME was inherited by Anne and remains (2021) in the ownership of the John Anderson Lord Estate and Treavor N. Lord.

Bio by Lee Davis, Granbury, TX. Anne was my father's great aunt, the sister for his grandmother (Frances P. Anderson Davis).
