Elizabeth Jean Anderson, 88, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at a local health care center.

Jean was born May 10, 1924, in St. Joseph, to William P. and Catherine F. (O'Connor) Delaney.

She attended St. Patrick School and the Plat-Grad Business School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

On May 10, 1946, she married Lewis Anderson in St. Joseph and they raised 15 children. Lewis preceded her in death on June 27, 2002.

She had worked at the St. Joseph Livestock Exchange and retired from the Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel after 20 years.

Mrs. Anderson was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Delaney and a son-in-law, Stephen McElduff.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her children: Mary Anderson, Evelyn Bangerter (Bob), Peggy McElduff, Connie Anderson, Ed Anderson (Mary Kathryn), Pat Anderson and Carol Anderson, all of St. Joseph; Steve Anderson (Lisa), Las Vegas, Nev.; Bob Anderson, Georgetown, Texas; John Anderson (Michele), Rosemont, Minn.; Jim Anderson (Diane), St. Louis, Mo.; Mike Anderson, Shreveport, La.; Mark Anderson (Sherry), Osborn, Mo.; Bill Anderson (Joan), Dallas, Texas; Janet Morrison (Kevin), Platte City, Mo.; 26 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Delaney and Ruth Anderson, both of St. Joseph.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.

A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.Thursday, and the family will receive friends following the rosary until 8:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church.

The body will be removed from our chapel at 4:30 p.m. to arrive at the church for the rosary.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, at St. Mary Catholic Church and the interment will follow at the Blakely Cemetery, Easton, Mo.
