Dorothy Eileen Searle Haslem, age 68 of Vernal, passed away in the presence of her family on August 29, 2012.

She was born on December 14, 1943 in Vernal, UT to Carl Edward Searle and Dorothy Marie Stringham Searle. She married Max Haslem on September 18th 1964 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

Eileen loved people. She was always happiest when she was serving others. She was always the first to give comfort or service to another. Eileen served actively in the LDS faith throughout her life. She loved music, dancing and spent many hours teaching her grandchildren dances from experiences throughout her life. Eileen dedicated many hours to the flowers along Main Street to ensure they were as beautiful as they could be. She was a wonderful mother who cared for her seven children more than she cared for herself.

Eileen is survived by her husband, Max Haslem and her seven children: Jeffrey Max Haslem, Bart Niles (Lori) Haslem, Cindy (Ray) Richards, Kimberly (Lee) Jenkins, Laurie Marie (Jerry) Bodily, Becky Jean (Jared) Dansie and Jay Carl (Molly) Haslem all of Vernal. She has 24 grandchildren (with one on the way), and 6 great grand children.

Her parents, and brother Jay Briant Searle, and sister Catherine "Dade" Shiner precede her in death.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11am at the Ashley 2nd Ward Chapel, 3040 North Vernal Avenue.

There will be a viewing held at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home, 410 North 800 West, on Monday, September 3, 2012 from 6~8pm and one hour prior to services at the chapel.

Burial will be in the Rockpoint Cemetery.
