Mary Elizabeth Ducourt Hicks, 96, of Fort Worth, passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at an Arlington hospital. She takes her place among many loved ones who had joined the heavenly host before her.
Funeral: noon Tuesday at Blessing Funeral Home, 401 Elm St., Mansfield. Burial: private family interment in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Blessing Funeral Home.
Mary was born May 31, 1908, in Grand Prairie to Joseph Emile and Cora Ann Combs Ducourt. She married Henry Robins Hicks June 13, 1925, in Dallas where they made their home until 1952 when they moved to Fort Worth.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Henry Robins Hicks; brothers, Robert Emil Ducourt and Jack Stanton Ducourt, both of Dallas; sisters, Josephine Orleans Halford Childress Lester of Sacramento, Calif. and Hazel Louise Halford Albertson of Los Angeles, Calif.; and grandson-in-law, Joseph Lovitto Jr. of Arlington.
Survivors: Daughters, Mary Louise Hicks Phillips and husband, Pratt of Mansfield, Nancy Ann Hicks of Mansfield and formerly of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Deborah Louise Madden Cromwell and husband, Frank of Waco, Gail Marie Madden Conley of Arlington, Katherine Lynn Madden Lovitto of Arlington, John Wayne Phillips and wife, Tracy of Mansfield; stepgrandchild, Sherwin Pratt Phillips and wife, Phyllis of Burleson; great-grandchildren, Shana Marshall Martin and husband, Michael of Mansfield, Jennifer Henegan of Austin, Matt Phillips of Burleson, Alyson Henegan of China Spring, John Phillips and wife, Crystal of Azle, Natalie Conley of Galveston, Lauren and Leslie Lovitto of Arlington and Trey Phillips of Mansfield; stepgreat-grandchildren, Erica Thomas, Richard Phillips and Michelle Phillips, all of California; great-great-grandchildren, Taylor Curry, Destinee Phillips and Jordan Thomas Martin.
