Lucy Ila Hammond, lifelong Grantsville resident, passed away Aug. 24. Lucy was born Jan. 11, 1932 in Grantsville to Frank Clark and Violet Binnall Hammond. She was the youngest of 11 children. She married James Melvin Fowler on March 31, 1951. Their marriage was solemnized in August 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple. Jim and Lucy were happily married for 61 years and were blessed with four children: Linda (Gene) Cook, Ronald (Lupe) Fowler, Ray (Diane) Fowler and Laurie (Steve) Cozart. Lucy faithfully served in various church callings. Throughout her life Lucy enjoyed many activities like traveling with her family, snow-birding in Arizona, tending her garden and plants and needle point. She was a fan of the Denver Broncos and the Utah Jazz. Lucy is survived by her husband, four children, 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Lucy was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and friend. She led a full and happy life and will be missed by all who knew her. A graveside service was held Aug. 28 at the Grantsville City Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers are Ron Fowler, Ray Fowler, Gene Cook, Steve Cozart, Chase Fowler and Tyler Quong. Honorary pall bearers are Matthew Fowler, Jeremy Bruening and Nick Glunz. Her family would like to thank those who have provided help and support to Lucy during the last few years
