Virginia Ann (Van Deventer) Cobb passed on July 31st in Hickory Point Christian Village. She was born June 27, 1917 on the farm in Wausaukee, Wisconsin the daughter of Clarence James and Grace Eudora (Dickson) Van Deventer and sister of Kenneth Eugene and later sister of Lois Caroline.

Virginia's grandmother, Jennie M. Dickson, was one of the founding women of Decatur and Macon County Hospital in 1923. Her grandfather, Clarence J. Van Deventer, Sr. had Van Deventer Photography Studio, one of Decatur's premier studios of the time.

Mother, Grace, had Van Deventer's Bakery & Cake Shoppe on Merchant Street during the "war years."

"Vandy" as she was known in school graduated from the old Stephen Decatur High in 1935. She married William Allen Cobb in 1939 at St. Patrick's Rectory. William preceded her in passing February 2, 2010 following 70 years of marriage.

Virginia enjoyed a career in the medical field which began at St. Mary's Hospital and concluded with Dr. Sterling Parker.

Virginia leaves her daughter; grandson; granddaughter; two great-grandsons.
She was preceded in passing by parents; husband, William; brother, "Van"; and sister, Lois "Babe" Hollier.
