DAVENPORT -- Luverne C. Marti, of Davenport, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Home, Davenport.
Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport.
Luverne was born October 26, 1910, in Scott County, to Delbert and Dora (Henricksen) Marti. He was united in marriage to Joesphine Kreiter on November 29, 1933, in Davenport. She died December 1985. He then was united in marriage to Anna Roehlk Jacobsen on January 23, 1988, in Long Grove, Iowa. He was a lifetime farmer in the Scott County area retiring in 1978. He continued to work on the farm mowing until 1997. He was a member of Long Grove Christian Church, Walcott Lion's Club, and the Plus 60 Club. Luverne was an active member of the Republican Party. Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife, Anna, Davenport; daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Bruce Williamson, Elgin, Ill.; step-sons and wife, Dale and Loretta Jacobsen, Knoxville, Tenn., Don Jacobsen, Coulterville, Calif.; step-daughters and husbands, Sally and Ernest Ervin, Rohnert Park, Calif., Judy and Richard Smith, Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Sandra Meincke Marti, Davenport; son-in-law; Richard Hagen, Walcott, Iowa; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Marti, Long Grove, Iowa, Harold and Arlene Marti, Bettendorf. He was preceded in death by his parent, son, Dennis, daughter, Jill, a brother, two sisters, and a great-grandchild.
