Robert William Casey

Robert William Casey 66 of Shortt Gap Virginia passed away Wednesday Dec 10 2003 in a Richlands Virginia hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Tazewell County Virginia and was the son of the late William and Katie Carr Casey.

He was retired from Island Creek Coal Company of Keen Mtn. Virginia. He was a member of the UMWA and a member of John Ratliff Post #164 of the American Legion in Grundy Virginia.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister--Betty Casey Davis.

His first wife Frances Minnie Webb Casey.

He is survived by his second wife--Pauline Cole Casey of Shortt Gap Virginia.

Two sons by his first wife--Chad M.Casey and wife Heather of Paintlick Virginia and Brian Casey and wife Sherry of Marvin Virginia.

Two daughters--Shelia Maxwell and husband Terry and Melisa J.Goodman and husband Rick all of Whitewood Virginia.

Three sisters--Alice Casey Pruitt and husband James of Lakeland Fla--
Mrs Mary Sue Casey Coleman of Franklinton North Carolina and Mrs. Connie Lawrence and husband Harry of Fincastle Virginia.

One brother-in-law--Donnie Davis of Doran Virginia.

Two special loving aunts--Mildred Taylor of Doran Virginia and Elizabeth Marshall of Cincinnati Ohio.

Seven loving grandchildren--Megan Casey--Caleb Casey--Brittany Maxwell--Emily Maxwell--Kent Goodman--Kala Goodman and Kara Goodman.

A special mother-in-law--Ava Dell Cole of Richlands Virginia.

A wonderful friend and caretaker--Dr Mario Stefanini.

Funeral services will be conducted at eleven Saturday at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff Virginia with the Rev Barry Absher and the Rev Rick Cole officiating.

Pallbearers will be--Ronnie Davis--Dennis Palmer--Terry Maxwell--Rick Goodman--Larry Green--Danny Lowe--Scott Marshall and Dick Cole.

Honorary pallbearers will be--Glen Hess--Charlie Simmons--Landon Altizer and Chris Justice.

Burial will be in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill Virginia.
