Mary Belle "Catty" Richardson Crow, 86, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2012, in the Life Care Center of Elizabethton after a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William P. and Vernie Grindstaff Richardson. She was an accomplished Seamstress. She owned and operated The Alteration Shop for a number of years
Mrs. Crow was the oldest active member of Moores Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene T. Crow, a son: Bill Crow, a daughter: Patricia Wade; two brothers: Franklin D. and Earl E. Richardson; and a sister: Ruby Richardson.
Survivors include a son & daughter-in-Law: Tom & Kathleen Crow, South Riding, Virginia; Five Grandchildren: Lucy, of Elizabethton, Nathan, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ryan, South Riding, Va., Angie and Allie, both of Montgomery, New York; A Sister & Brother-In-Law: Faye & Wayne Pierce, Elizabethton; A Brother & Sister-In-Law: Leonard & Sandra Richardson, Elizabethton; Several Nieces & Nephews; Her special friends: Anna Mae Campbell and Charlotte Blevins.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Greg Largent officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012, in the VanHuss Cemetery (Siam Community). Music will be provided by the Moores Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Choir. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12 Noon Saturday, will be: Ryan Crow, Chuck Pierce, Richard Pierce, Frankie Birchfield, Bill Richardson and Phillip Nave. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Shannon Carrier and members of the Moores Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the Staff of Life Care Center and Dr. Vivian Clark.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her sister & brother-in-law: Faye & Wayne Pierce, 123 Low Gap Road, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12 noon Saturday to go to the cemetery.
