KEARNEY - Maxine LaVonne (Carlson) "Micki" Anderson, 72, of Holdrege died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege with the Rev. Jamie Strickler officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.

She was born Nov. 28, 1939, in Holdrege to Harry W. and Faris L. (Swisher) Carlson.

On Oct. 15, 1960, she married Dale R. Anderson in Holdrege.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Debbi Watt and her husband, David, of Lakeside, Ariz.; sons, Doug Anderson and his wife, Durene, and Darren Anderson and his wife, Suzie, all of Holdrege; grandchildren, Brian Watt, Riley Svoboda, Danielle Anderson and her fiancé, Erick Axtell, Michael, Nicholas, Joseph and Spencer Anderson, Kenneth Hastings and his wife, Joanne, and David Hastings; great-granddaughter, Audrey Svoboda; sister, Bonnie Herndon and her husband, Fred, of Orange Park, Fla.; brother, Donald L. "Jack" Carlson of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Jean Olson of Franklin, Carolyn Piska of Sun City, Ariz., Janet Merten and her husband, Rich, of Amarillo, Texas, Marcille Rieber of Colorado Springs, Colo., Eleanor Rogers of Holbrook and Janice VonLoh and her husband, Jim, of Holdrege; brothers-in-law, Darold Anderson and his wife, Evelyn, of Lakeland, Fla., and Don Hohner and his wife, Barbara, of Hastings; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Micki was the 11th of 14 children in her family. She was baptized and became a member of First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege. She was a resident of the Phelps County area most of her life. She attended country school north of Loomis and then attended school in Loomis, Kearney and Minden before graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 1957.

She and Dale were married at First Presbyterian Church. They made their home on a dairy farm north of Holdrege.

Micki enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, cooking, flowers and being with the family, but most of all enjoyed being out on the farm helping her husband. She later made Holcomb Evangelical Free Church her home church. In October 2010, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with their immediate family in a special reunion in Omaha.

Micki was a good friend who always shared herself with a smile and a helping hand. Her philosophy of life was, "Do unto others as you would want done unto you and your life will be abundantly fulfilled." She loved going to her kids' and grandkids' school and athletic events. Her husband, children and family were her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; mothers-in-law, Myrtle Carlson and Esther Anderson; father-in-law, Reuben Anderson; brothers, H. Winston Carlson, Paul W. Carlson, Stanley L. Carlson, Basil B. Carlson, L. Lemonte Carlson, Neal J. Carlson and Randy M. Carlson; sisters, Fern Swanson, Evelyn Bjorklund, DeLoris E. Aman and DeVona M. Carlson; brothers-in-law, Robert Bjorklund, Bror Swanson, James Piska and Robert Olson; nephews, Brian Olson, Rick Hamlet and Lonnie Herndon; and niece, Janice Swanson.
