Michael N. Striedel, 89, of Victoria, died Monday, April 10, 2006.
He was born Jan. 27, 1917, in Kemper City, to the late Michael Nelson and Annie Minna Striedel. He was a sheet metal worker for Duke Martignoni, a Lutheran, and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors: step-daughter, Aileen Allman of Indiana; stepson, Julius Frank Zatopek, Jr. of Victoria; sisters, Allene Bethke of Goliad, Delphine M. Krause of Victoria, and Josephine F. Morris of Huntsville; nine step-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: wife, Alvina Marie Karcher Striedel; sisters, Maydella Ressman, Leona Rehm, Ann Shurber, Mildred Helen Gulliver and Nathalie Alma Striedel; and brothers, Raymond O'Quinn Striedel, Lawrence A. Striedel, Peter Striedel and William "Boots" Striedel.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. tonight at Colonial Funeral Home chapel.
Graveside services with full military honors, under the auspices of the Victoria County Veterans Council, AL, CWV, VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, Ex-POW, MOPH, VVA, and the KWV will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery. Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria, 361-578-3535.
