Funeral services will be at 12:30 PM on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at St. Benedict Senior Community Chapel in St. Cloud, for Devota A. Aigner, age 95 of St. Cloud who died on Monday, August 20, 2012 at St. Benedict Senior Community. The Reverend Meinrad Dindorf, OSB will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in St. Cloud.
Devota was born on April 3, 1917 at Hardington, Nebraska, the daughter of Edmund and Helen (Konz) Schnettler. She moved with her family as a young girl to St. Cloud, MN where she grew up and attended school. She was united in marriage to Werner B. Aigner on May 8, 1944 at the Cathedral of St. Paul in St. Paul, MN. After their marriage they lived in St. Cloud for many years before moving to Minneapolis in the late 1950's. She lived in Minneapolis until 2004 when she became a resident of St. Benedict Senior Community in St. Cloud.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Minneapolis.
She is survived by four sisters, Geraldine Johnson, Irene Billig, and Helen Schnettler all of St. Cloud, and Carol Allen of Phoenix, AZ, one brother Ed (Mary) Schnettler of St. Cloud, and one sister-in-law Dolores Schnettler of Monticello, MN.
Mrs. Aigner was preceded in death by her husband Werner, her parents, four sisters, Marianne Schlicher, Margaret McKeon, Loyola Hockert, and Donna Wilmes, and one brother Jack.
