Patricia Fern Cellars (nee Scott) lost her battle with cancer and passed away at the Agape Hospice in Calgary with her husband and daughters by her side, at the age of 70 years.

Pat, or Patsy as she was affectionately known by her family, was the only child born to Lily and Clarence Scott on March 3, 1941 in Canmore, Alberta. After finishing school at the Canmore High School, Pat moved to Calgary to attend Henderson Business College and later worked there as a secretary until 1965. While living in Calgary, she met and married William (Bill) Cellars in 1961.

Pat was a loving, compassionate and caring wife and mother who devoted her life to her family and to the task of raising her two daughters. She enjoyed sewing clothing and Halloween costumes for her girls when they were young. She also loved cooking and baking and there were always home cooked meals at lunch time for the girls and every night at supper for the family. Pat was a giving and generous soul. She constantly put her family's needs first before her own, from driving the girls to all their school time activities to caring for her aging mother, uncle and aunts. She could always be relied upon and was always there when any of her family needed help.

Pat had many hobbies and enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing and reading. The gardens in her back yard were a labor of love and the roses in her rose garden were spectacular. She was smart and witty and always loved to laugh at a good joke. She was proud of her collection of books on a variety of subjects. If anyone wanted something to read, "Mom's Library" was sure to have what you were looking for.

Pat was the "glue" that held her family together and her absence will be painfully felt for many years to come.

Pat leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 50 years, Bill and daughters Laurie (Mark) and Arlen (Tony). She was predeceased by her parents, Lily and Clarence Scott, aunts Ann Oughton and Maimie Piper and uncles Jack, Gus and Dave Gustason.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the staff of the Palliative Home Care of Calgary and the Agape Hospice of Calgary. These are very special people who helped to make an unbearable situation bearable.

At Pat's request, no funeral service will be held. Cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest with her parents in the Canmore Cemetery at a later date.

Friends wishing to remember Pat may make donations, in her memory, to the Palliative Home Care of Calgary, the Agape Hospice or the Cochrane and Area Humane Society.
