Frances Matilda Schlemeyer, 66, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at her residence.
Frances was born March 29, 1938, in Hobbs, N.M. She moved to Odessa in 1941 from Hobbs. She taught school at Crockett Jr. High and later Odessa High School. She retired in 1993 after 33 years of teaching.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brothers, George Schlemeyer and wife, Gene Ann Robbins, of Arlington and Carl Schlemeyer and wife, Dot, of Odessa; sister, Mary Ray and husband Eugene of Carlsbad, N.M.; and three nieces, seven nephews and seven cousins.
Pallbearers will be Trace Schlemeyer, Race Schlemeyer, Parker Schlemeyer, Hunter Schlemeyer, Matt Dorsett and Bill Proctor. Honorary pallbearers are: Joline Adkins, Gail Ahnert, DeAnn Wilson, Jennifer Bauer, Rachel Maxwell, Frances Coots, Debbie Atkinson, Regeana Burnette, Sabrina Elms, Sherri Miraglia, Jayne Turner, Letha Henley, Evie Carrigan and Laura Coleman.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Eugene Ray officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
Contributions may be sent to the Trustee of the Frances Schlemeyer Trust at 2817 J.B.S. Parkway, Suite A 102, Odessa, TX 79762, for a Memorial to be placed at the cemetery site.
