Kathryn M. ""Kitty"" Blain, age 67, of 1325 North 8th Street, Manitowoc, died
Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at her residence.
Kitty was born on September 21, 1944, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph
and ClaraBelle (Liddle) Rathsack. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated
from Lincoln High School with the class of 1962. She was a 1967 graduate of the
University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor degree in Journalism. Kitty was
a newspaper reporter for the Rockford Morning Star in Rockford, IL and a free
lance writer during the 1970s in Louisville, KY. She was editor of the Tri-Lakes
Enterprise in Delevan, WI as a summer intern in 1966. She received an award from
the Illinois Press Association in 1971. Kitty held several secretarial jobs in
Manitowoc. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two brothers:
Joseph L. Rathsack, Juda; Michael E. Rathsack, Naperville, IL. Nieces, nephews,
great nieces and great nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her
parents: Joseph and ClaraBelle Rathsack; one sister: Walene Ross; two brothers:
Richard Rathsack and Walter Rathsack.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Reinbold
and Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State St. Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may
call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service
at 2:00 p.m.
